The Most Beautiful Day

Rannet and I took the day off on Monday, 11 December 2006 to spend time together, since we didn't get to, during our birthdays. We were suppose to head to Gentings, but I fell ill on Sunday and we cancelled the Gentings plan. Rannet came over on Monday morning, with breakfast, and we chilled at home, while I did some design work for dad, and he was busy with his office work. We made plans to meet Shanti and Peter in the evening before prayer just to discuss with them bout our marriage plans, etc. Later in the afternoon, he mentioned that he had some chores to do, and I agreed to follow.

We got stuck in 2 different jams and were so furious. We decided to detour and stop at Mont Kiara for lunch. None of us knew any nice places there, and we ended in a snack bar and had an average-tasting sandwich for a ridiculous price !! Rannet was in a good mood throughout, although I was winning about the sandwich.

We headed to Sentul and I was getting more and more annoyed as I felt the day was passing by so fast and we didn't really get to do anything special on that day. As we were heading back home, I knew we wouldn't make it in time to meet Shanti and Peter. I was getting annoyed. We got stuck in a jam in Brickfields, and Rannet suddenly remembers he has to meet Jacob! So off we detour to Grace's Corner. By this time, I was pissed, and I told Rannet to drop me back home since Jacob was getting late. Rannet refused to send me back, and I was getting even more angry. That's when he tells me that we can't head back home because Sudhir is with his gf there, and he wanted some time to be with his gf. What?!! (that was my reaction..)

No wonder Rannet and Sudhir were having all those funny talks in the morning by themselves. Although I was happy to know that Sundhir has a gf, but I was furious to know that I couldn't go back and that we had to cancel our plans with Shanti and Peter. It was 5.00 p.m., and we had to wait till 6p.m. before we could head home. We parked somewhere in Brickfields, and I refused to talk to Rannet, while he was busy smsing. We fought - it was a big fight, and Rannet was laughing. And I was getting so angry !!

Finally, it was 5 minutes to 6.00 p.m. and we left. On our way back, Rannet decides to detour again to Bangsar, to get something. And I was at the verge of screaming! Yet, we went home, and I decided not to go for prayer, and I headed straight up to the apartment, leaving Rannet behind.

I opened the apartment door - all I wanted to do was to head to my room! As I opened the door, I was shocked. There, in my hall, was this beautiful candle light dinner awaiting me - with roses, and a teddy bear, with beautiful romantic music going on. And Rannet appears at the back of me, and he hugs me. And I indeed felt so bad. He was delaying everything so that Sudhir could prepare all this for me ! (And yes, there is no such thing as Sudhir's gf, nor Jacob's appoinment with Rannet).

I can't possible express the feeling I had at that moment. I was truly speechless. Rannet held my hand and headed to the dining table, pulled my chair for me to sit. He served me the starter, then the main meal. And we had a beautiful dinner.


Afterwhich, he came to me, and asked me for a dance. And we danced !! I was still so speechless. After our dance, as I was heading back to my seat for the dessert, he held my hand, went on his knees and proposed !! I can't possible remember every single word he said, but he did say that he wanted me to be his wife. And he put his hands into his pocket, and brought out something, while saying "I don't have a ring..." This is when I, the silly me, burst out crying. I know it was the wrong time, coz it sounded as if I was dissapointed that there was no ring - NO!! I was actually so touched, coz I didnt expect anything. I knew someday he would propose, but I didnt expect any gifts!

He reached out for the gift in his pocket, and he said that he wanted to be different, so he got me a white gold necklace with a cross. It was beautiful. Everything was beautiful that night!

I was finally proposed by the man I was going to commit my life to. And I'm truly blessed to have his as my mate, God-given companion. I'm truly excited to begin my life with him.

Rannet, I love you so much - and there's no way I could ask for more, dear!
